Dr. Sonia Juneja

Sonia Juneja, MD is a Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Juneja provides empathic and cutting-edge care using evidence-based treatment to treat conditions including mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and sleep issues. She incorporates psychosocial issues such as parenting, relationship issues, stress management and coping skills in her treatment planning for all patients. Dr. Juneja’s vision is to provide high quality, supportive and collaborative care for her patients, offering a variety of evidence-based treatment and only using medication when necessary. She treats a wide range of patients from diverse backgrounds and ages 6+.

Dr. Juneja received her medical degree from MGR University in India. She completed her General Adult Psychiatry Residency training and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry sub-specialty fellowship training at West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, WV. After serving as chief resident in her final year of Child Fellowship training, she completed a one-year fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at WVU. She went on to practice as Assistant Professor at West Virginia University Hospital in the Department of Psychiatry until she moved to the D.C. metro area in 2012.

Dr. Juneja has served patients in a variety of setting including inpatient, acute care, consultation liaison and outpatient mental health offices. She currently treats patients at her private office in Bethesda, MD. She also works for a nonprofit organization in Bethesda, National Center for Children and Families.
